Car tab fee hearing Feb. 11

— The Sunnyside City Council at Monday’s meeting set a date for a public hearing regarding the development of a Transportation Benefit District.

The public has a chance to voice its opinion Feb. 11 at the 6:30 p.m. City Council meeting.

A Transportation Benefit District sets a rate for additional fees for vehicle registrations within the city. Those fees are directly placed into a fund to be used solely for street projects.

Mayor Julia Hart, at Monday’s City Council meeting, said it will allow the city to move forward with potentially placing an increase in sales taxes before the voters as well.
