PASCO Four cross country runners from Bickleton took part in the 1B State Cross Country meet on Saturday at Sun Willows Golf Course.
Michael Gannon, a senior, competed in his third and last State meet. He was 38th in a field of 154 runners, clocking a time of 17:57.20.
He lost three spots from the 2-mile marker. His time was 11:23.50 at that point in the course.
Teammate Christian Arriaga, a sophomore, made his first appearance in the meet, finishing in 18:01.70 for 45th. He was 49th at the 2-mile marker in 11:31.20.
Also competing for the first time was eighth-grader Luke Binfet, who finished 84th. He posted a final finish of 18:38.30. His 2-mile time was 11:52.2 for 82nd.
Outpacing the entire field at both the 2-mile marker and the finish was Austen Apperson of Adna. The senior posted a final finish of 15:56.40 for the 1B championship, and his 2-mile time was 10:04.5.
Not to be left out was one harrier among the girls. Ninth-grader Haylee Andrews was a newcomer to the State experience and finished the 3-mile course in 23:31.20 for 76th place. Her 2-mile time was not provided in the official results.
Winning the girls individual title was defending champion Novie McCabe of Liberty Bell. She clocked 18:27.40.
