ZILLAH On Saturday May 12, people from all over converged here for Zillah Community Days.
The day’s events were dominated by the Zillah Community Days Parade and Carnival.
The day was packed with entertainment from rides to games to dunking community members — including Mayor Scott Carmack.
The parade featured members of communities from far and wide, with a range of entrants, from Prosser princesses to a Klickitat County rodeo queen; from John Deere tractors to a Mustang Club, from trotting horses to children darting for candy.
Following the end of the parade the crowd dissipated, and many went to Stewart Park for a carnival.
Giant stuffed animals hung from many booths, flashing lights drew the eye to rides, and the smell of deep fried foods enticed the carnival goers.
For $5, contestants were given three balls to attempt to dunk residents.
The proceeds from the dunk tank will go toward the construction of a splash park.
The most anticipated dunk tank victim was Mayor Scott Carmack, with a crowd gathering for the sight.
