Ronald Edward Taylor accused of starting three fires in Yakima area

— A local man remains in jail today on $150,000 bail following his arrest earlier this week for igniting three fires.

Ronald Edward Taylor Jr., 21, is facing charges of first-degree arson, second-degree arson and first-degree reckless burning, Yakima County Jail records show.

He was arrested by the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force on Monday, March 5.

According to authorities, Taylor started three first last weekend.

Investigators determined Taylor was in Selah area and task force members located and arrested him at a Park Avenue residents, records show. He was then booked into the county jail.

U.S. Marshal Craig Thayer said the apprehension of Taylor underscores again the value and effectiveness of the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force.

The task force is under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Marshal Service. It includes members of the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, state Department of Corrections, Yakima Police Department, Yakima Fire Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
