Bad head light leads

— A Prosser man went to jail early yesterday morning on drug charges after a Washington State Patrol trooper stopped him for a headlight that wasn’t working.

According to the charging document from Trooper B.F. Luedtke, movements by Jesus Ramos Lemus tipped Luedtke off to the possibility of a firearm.

The court record shows that, after help arrived, Lemus was placed in handcuffs, and Luedtke removed a .32-caliber revolver from his pants pocket.

A search revealed drugs, the record shows. Lemus was booked into Yakima County Jail for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a loaded firearm inside a vehicle without a permit.
