EPHRATA The Lady Tigers were handed a home court defeat, 32-46, by the visiting Grandview girls basketball team last Friday.
Ephrata was up 12-10 at the end of the first period, but the Greyhounds poured on an 11-6 scoring run in the second for a 21-18 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Grandview stayed in control of the game and held the Tigers to just 5 points while scoring 17. The Lady ‘Hounds finished held the lead and got the win with an 8-9 fourth-quarter.
Payton Hagey of Ephrata scored a game-high 18 points, while Grandview’s Michelle Ruiz tallied 17.
Ruiz accounted for 8 of her points from the charity stripe. Teammate Bailey Duis scored 15 points.
She was 2-for-2 from the beyond the 3-point arc and scored 12 points from inside.
The Lady Tigers (3-5, 3-7) outrebounded Grandview (7-1, 9-1) 28-23 with both teams getting the majority of their rebounds on defense.
Grandview hosts Prosser this Thursday.
