Swimmers finish league championship

— The Sunnyside girls swim team is wrapping up its regular season in preparation for the District meet.

Yesterday, the Grizzlies scored 98 points at the Columbia Basin Big 9 championships.

The 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Kylah Bunch, Arizona Rodriguez, Arianna Sanchez and Allison Davis was 10th in 2:18.61.

Amerie Stroh was 19th in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking 2:44.78; Sanchez was 12th in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:50.59; Allison Davis was 11th in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking 28.58; Lia Anderson tallied 248.95 in diving for 10th place; Clarissa Calderon was 15th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:21.60; Morgan Gardner was 14th in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking 1:07.60; in the 500-yard freestyle, Stephanie Blankenship finished in 7:27.39 for 15th; Bunch was 15th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:18.68 and Sanchez was 16th in 1:18.87; and Rodriguez was 11th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:26.93.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gardner, Sanchez, Bunch and Davis clocked 1:59.49 for 7th place; and the 400-yard freestyle team of Eternity Yanez, Aline Anderson, Rodriguez and Mackenzie Bates was 14th in 5:22.14.
