Attack ends in arrest

— A local man is facing a myriad of charges after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house last week and threatened her and her new boyfriend.

Kirk Fredrick Hollmeyer, 58, was charged in Yakima County Superior Court on Friday with harassment, first-degree malicious mischief, third-degree theft, second-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree assault.

According to court records, Hollmeyer allegedly broke into a home at 1450 Scoon Road occupied by his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, Greg Smith.

The victim told police Hollmeyer entered the home and found the couple in bed, then chased them through the house, threatening to kill them, court records show.

The victim was able to get into her car, at which Hollmeyer canned asparagus at the windshield and door, records show. As she drove off, Hollmeyer allegedly chased her

Records show windows had been shattered and there was “well in excess of $10,000” in damage.
