Blow out causes crash

— A Zillah woman is recovering from injuries sustained when her pick-up crashed Wednesday.

Augusta J. Hughes, 29, was westbound on Interstate 82 in a 1998 Mazda pick-up, when it blew a tire near Milepost 44, the Washington State Patrol said.

The blow out caused Hughes to lose control of the vehicle and it flipped over through the median, coming to rest on its top in the westbound lanes, troopers said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved and Hughes was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

She was transported to Virginia Mason Memorial in Yakima, the patrol said.
