Grizzlies are winning it

— Although the Grizzlies boys wrestling team is currently ranked No. 9 in the 4A polls, quite a few are excelling this season.

Josiah Rodriguez (160) has a perfect 8-0 record. As of the Dec. 18 polls, he was No. 3 statewide.

Jose Campos (126) is 13-1 and ranked No. 2 in his weight class and teammate Fabian Ortega is No. 11; and Ignacio Payan (10-3) and Samuel Guerrero (3-1) are ranked Nos. 6 and 11 among the 113-pound wrestlers.

Two Grizzlies are No. 7 in their respective weight classes. Andrew Macias (120) is 12-2, and Moises Morales (182) is 10-2.

Grizzlies 220-pound Daniel Huizar is No. 8 with a 13-1 record, 285-pound Jector Ramirez is No. 9 with a 12-3 record, and Izaiah Gonzalez (145) is No. 9 with a 10-4 record.

With a 12-2 record in the 132-pound weight class is freshman Austin Villanueva. He is not yet ranked, nor is 195-pound Isaiah Lopez with a 10-3 record.
