Blue service planned

— Not everyone can deal with the “happiness of the holiday.”

To help deal with the holidays, a “Blue Christmas” service will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 19, at the Presbyterian Church, 737 S. 16th St.

Hosted by the Presbyterian, United Methodist and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, the service will offer a time of sharing, healing prayers that acknowledge God’s presence is for those who mourn, Pastor Pat Beeman said.

“It’s a time to remind ourselves that God’s word comes to shine light into our darkness,” she said.

Everyone, regardless of church background or lack of it, is welcome.
