Musician visiting Grandview schools

— The School District will host a Seattle musician for three performances tomorrow.

Mike Gervais, better known as Mikey Mike the Rad Scientist, is visiting elementary schools on Tuesday. Gervais is a regular on the children's music circuit, playing at Seattle family festivals, libraries and school groups.

Gervais' songs bring science to life. His playlist includes songs about geology, lichen, predators and the water cycle.

Each of the following assemblies will last 45 minutes; 9 a.m. at Arthur H. Smith Elementary School, 10:15 a.m. at Harriet Thompson Elementary School and 1:30 p.m. at McClure Elementary School.

Gervais is the first in a series of musicians who will visit the district this school year. His performances are through its Musician in Residence program. The district has once again partnered with musician Cody Beebe, who will bring different musicians and experiences into the district throughout the year.
