Swimmers qualify for final events

— Several Sunnyside swimmers are competing in tomorrow’s district finals.

In yesterday’s preliminaries, the 200 yard medley relay team qualified with a time of 2:16.99. Team members include Kylah Bunch, Allison Davis, Erica Linde and Brielle Newhouse.

Wenatchee had the best time, clocking 1:56.40.

Newhouse also qualified for the finals in the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly events, tagging the end of the pool in 2:26.56 and 1:13.50, respectively.

In the 200 yard individual medley, Linde clocked 2:58.46.

Davis tagged the end of the pool in 28.59 in the 50 yard freestyle event and 6:53.27 in the 500 yard freestyle.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team — Linde, Newhouse, Morgan Gardner and Clarisa Calderon — posted a qualifying time of 2:05.75.

Bunch clocked 1:15.39 in the 100 yard backstroke to qualify for today’s races, and Gardner qualified in 1:30.40 in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The final race to have representation from the Grizzlies is the 400 yard freestyle relay. Bunch, Gardner, Calderon and Davis raced to the finish in 4:46.06 yesterday.
