Man accused of grabbing, holding woman against her will

— A local man is accused of holding his estranged wife against her will in the presence of their 7-year-old son.

Oscar Casanova, 29, is charged with unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree domestic violent assault, probable cause documents show.

He was arrested Tuesday at his home, records show. His wife had arrived at his home to pick up their son following a visitation, records show.

She told police she waited in the car for Casanova to bring their son to her.

After she refused his request to get back together, Casanova took the keys out of the ignition, preventing her from leaving, records show.

When she moved over to the passenger side, Casanova allegedly grabbed her by the wrist and began to pull her toward him, records show.

He told her to sit back in her seat so he could talk to her, records show.

She begged him to give her the keys back as their son was scared, records show. Casanova eventually returned the keys.

She told police she and Casanova have been married eight years and separated for five years, but he refuses to sign divorce papers, records show.

She also said he is controlling at times and refuses to end the relationship, records show.
