Crash injures two area men

— A Toppenish man was at fault for a crash that injured two people yesterday, the Washington State Patrol said.

Jordan R. Marquez, 20, was westbound on state Highway 24 at Beaudry Road when he crashed into the back of a Mitsubishi Endeavor driven by Edemiro Garza Jr., 60, of Yakima, who stopped for traffic, troopers said. Garza’s vehicle was pushed into the eastbound lane and was struck by a Ford R10 driven by Jonathan M. Contreras Mendoza, 24, of Yakima.

Garza and Contreras were both injured and taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Marquez was cited for following too close, troopers said.
