Congressional campaign suspended

— Today, Rep. Elizabeth Scott, candidate for Congress in Washington's First Congressional District, suspended her campaign due to health reasons.

"It is with great sadness that I announce my decision to suspend my campaign for Congress," she said. "I ask you to respect my family's privacy during this difficult time."

Scott said she will compete her term as a state representative, which ends in January.

"I will continue to fight for smaller, smarter government," she said.
