WHITE PASS A gunshot victim is recovering after having been shot early Saturday morning.
At about 2 a.m. Yakima County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Tieton Road for a report of a gunshot victim.
The 31-year-old Seattle-area man was shot in the chest, Detective Sgt. Mike Russell said.
The man was taken to the hospital and released after being treated. It was determined the wound was not life threatening, he said.
Upon investigation, a stolen rifle and shell casings were found on a hillside near the man’s campsite, Russell said.
He said there is no known motive or suspect at this time.
