Free meals being served

— The School District is offering free meals beginning today for children ages one to 18.

The meals are offered though the Simplified Summer Food Program for Children. Breakfast and lunch will be served weekdays at several locations throughout the community.

Breakfast will be served at the Westside Park, West Second Street, from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. through Aug. 18.

Also through July 8, meals will be served at Grandview Middle School, 1401 W. Second St. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the middle school and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Beginning July 25 through Aug. 12, meals will be served at Harriet Thompson Elementary School, 1105 W. Second St. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to noon.


Free lunch is also offered in Prosser by the Boys and Girls Club at 823 Park Ave. beginning at 8:15 for breakfast and at 2:30 p.m. for lunch.

Mabton children will be served free meals at the Artz-Fox Elementary School, 805 Washington St., weekdays through July 8.

Breakfast will be served from 8-8:25 a.m., while lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

All meal sites will be closed on July 4.
