Man faces drug, DUI charges

— The State Patrol is requesting multiple charges for a local man arrested Friday.

Jess A. White, 46, was arrested at 541 N. Forsell Road and has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, marijuana possession, driving under the influence and third-degree driving while license suspended, court documents show.

He made a preliminary appearance in Yakima County Superior Court yesterday.

A trooper driving on Yakima Valley Highway noticed a motorcycle failing to complete a stop at a stop sign at Woodworth Road, documents state.

The trooper followed the motorcycle, which did not stop again at the intersection of Woodworth and North Forsell roads, records show.

The trooper stopped the motorcycle, driven by White. He noticed White was patting his right pocket, records show.

White wouldn’t stay still as the trooper approached him and the trooper noticed he exhibited fast speech and constricted pupils, leading the trooper to believe White was driving under the influence of intoxicants, records show.

The trooper arrested White for third-degree driving while license suspended, conducted a search and found White in possession of a glass pipe containing methamphetamine, documents state.

White gave the trooper permission to search a backpack in which marijuana was discovered, records show.
