Newspaper closing doors

— The 108-year history of the Othello Outlook will come to an end Thursday when the newspaper publishes its final edition.

Publisher/editor LuAnn Morgan announced the weekly newspaper with an estimated circulation of 1,600 will close its doors due to financial reasons.

The newspaper dates back to 1908.

Hagadone Corp. has announced plans to expand its Royal City-based Sun Tribune to cover Othello.

Longtime Sun-Tribune editor Ted Escobar, formerly of Granger, will oversee the coverage of Othello, as well as Mattawa and Desert Aire.
