New rules eyed for oil

— In the wake of an oil train that derailed last month in Oregon, federal officials are considering new regulations.

The federal Department of Transportation is proposing rules that would require trains hauling crude oil to develop comprehensive plans for oil spills.

The derailment near Mosier, Ore. last month caused oil to spill into the Columbia River and the water supply for the town.
