Man charged with unlawful imprisonment

— A man who attempted to prevent his wife from fleeing from his presence is facing an unlawful imprisonment charge.

Joshua David Solis, 28, was in Yakima County Superior Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing.

Friday, he contacted his wife at her mother’s home on Krough Road, records show. She was staying there because he allegedly assaulted her two days before.

Upon contacting her, he attempted to prevent her leaving by grabbing the keys from her vehicle’s ignition as she tried to drive away, records show.

Solis eventually gave her the keys and she tried to leave again, but he jumped in front of the vehicle, records show.

After his wife called 911, he left the home, records show.

Yakima County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the call and arrested Solis for unlawful imprisonment-keeping a subject against their will.
