— Fiber artists from throughout the Yakima Valley will gather at Sage Bluff Alpacas for its sixth annual Summer Fiber Arts Festival.

The “Spin-In” is 11 a.m. July 16. It is open to the public until 4 p.m., and appropriate for all ages.

Admission is free.

Visitors will be able to tour the farm, 8401 S. Steele Road. They can meet the alpacas and talk with breeders John and Jennifer Ely.

Special guest Connie Massie will be the event’s featured artist.

Massie specializes in spinning and dyeing unique blends of natural fibers, including alpaca.

Other fiber artists will demonstrate “fiber to fashion” techniques.

They include spinning, weaving, felting and knitting. Many will have their creative work for sale.

Visitors can also meet the farm’s newest additions, the cria (babies) born this summer.

There will also be opportunities to win an alpaca teddy bear in the farm’s “Name the Cria Contest.”
