— A resident is recovering from injuries sustained in a home invasion robbery this morning.

The resident was home alone and was awakened by an intruder, police said. After a brief struggle, the assailant hit the victim with a firearm. He threatened the victim and demanded money and other valuables.

The victim was able to call 9-1-1. Police and Yakima County Sheriff's Office deputies, tracked the suspect with the aid of a K-9 unit, police said.
