Local churches plan July Bible classes

— Three churches are pooling their resources to host a three-day vacation Bible school next week.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, United Methodist Church, Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and Sunnyside Presbyterian Church will have Bible classes at the Methodist church, 906 E. Edison Ave.

The theme is “SonSurf Beach Bash” and is designed for children ages 3 to 10.

The morning classes, which continue through Thursday, will be 9 a.m. to noon. Activities will include Bible stories, crafts, games, snacks and music.

A special cash offering will be collected each day to benefit mission projects that work to provide clean drinking in places where clean safe water is hard to find, Methodist Church Pastor Pat Beeman said.

Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

For more details, call the church at 509-837-4818.

A vacation Bible school program also starts Monday in Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, 400 North Ave.

The theme is “Noah’s Ark,” and classes will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day through Thursday.

Children ages 5 to 11 are welcome.

The program is free.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.
