GRANDVIEW Five people were injured, two of them facing charges, after a series of crashes in the Lower Yakima Valley.
A 17-year-old boy from Wapato was charged Saturday with vehicular assault, eluding and possession of a stolen vehicle when he led Washington State Patrol troopers on a pursuit ending at Milepoint 75 on Interstate 82.
A passenger in the 1994 Honda Accord, Savannah George, 32, of Yakima, was also injured.
On Friday, troopers cited Daryl Riccardi, 51, of Sandy, Utah with driving under the influence. Troopers said his 2004 Harley Davidson crashed into a median near Zillah at Milepost 52 on Interstate 82.
Riccardi attempted to pass another vehicle, lost control and his motorcycle left the roadway, troopers said.
Also Friday, two Lower Yakima Valley women were injured in a three-vehicle crash at Milepost 168 of state Highway 12, near Naches.
Troopers said Kevin Stach, 47, of Harrah, stopped while driving eastbound in a 2006 Ford pickup truck.
Joe Gregor, 75, of Merritt Island, Fla., was traveling behind Stach and attempted to brake, troopers said.
His 2001 Rambler Endeavor motorhome veered into the left lane, where it struck a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Brenda Davis, 56, of Prosser, troopers said.
Davis’ car then struck Stach’s vehicle.
Davis and a passenger, Tabitha Barnhart, 35, of Grandview, were both injured and taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Gregor was charged with negligent driving, the State Patrol said.
