Knights get past Yakama Tribal

— Sunnyside Christian’s boys basketball team rallied for a 62-57 win over Yakama Tribal last Friday.

The Knights led the sixth-ranked Eagles at intermission, but Yakama Tribal answered and went up by two heading into the fourth quarter.

Entering the third, Yakama responded back and even led Sunnyside Christian by 2 points by the end of the quarter.

“We only managed to score nine points in the third,” coach Dean Wagenaar said. “They had a pretty big quarter and played with a ton of energy.”

Sunnyside Christian socked the game away in the fourth quarter with a 19-12 run. Chance Marsh’s 23 points led the Knights. Cade Bosma (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Justin Faber (11 points, 13 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles for Sunnyside Christian.

Also Friday, the Knights girls team basketball team dispatched host Yakama Tribal 70-28 led by Emily Banks’ 21 points.
