TOPPENISH An Outlook man is accused of stealing a car and planning to deliver methamphetamine.
Armando M. Garcia, 40, is charged with second-degree possession of stolen property, second-degree criminal trespassing, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a probable cause document shows.
He was booked into the Yakima County Jail on Friday, records show.
Garcia, whose home address is listed as 2375 Van Belle Road, was arrested at 370 Chambers Road, near Toppenish, where a resident had complained of a red car trespassing on his property, records show.
A Yakima County Sheriff’s Office deputy found Garcia in the drivers seat of a red Toyota Corolla at that address, records show. The car had been reported stolen.
Police detained both Garcia and his passenger, Carlos Perez, 40, records show. While taking Garcia out of the car, deputies noticed a bag of a white crystal substance between the drivers seat and the door.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the car, records show. They found approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine and a scale.
Perez is considered a co-defendant in the case, records show.
Garcia’s prior convictions include manufacturing/delivering methamphetamine, second-degree assault and tampering with a witness, records show.
