Wine legend nominations sought

— Nominations are now sought for the Legends of Washington Wine Hall of Fame.

Legends is a program of the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center which honors individuals who have made a lasting impact, over 25 years or more, on the Washington wine industry.

A new Legend is inducted annually from nominations received. A nominee may be a winemaker, researcher, educator, philanthropist, journalist or other individual who has made significant and lasting contributions to the industry.

The current Legends Hall of Fame honorees include S.W. “Bill” Preston, John and Ann Williams, Jim and Pat Holmes, Stan Clarke, John N. Anderson, David Lake, Bill Powers, Dr. Myles J. Anderson, George Carter, Mike Hogue, Allen Shoup and Don Mercer.

Each individual is honored with a bronze plaque which is on display at the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center for viewing by visitors to the tasting room.

Nominations are being accepted through Dec. 30, and the inductee will be chosen by Jan. 13, 2016. Nomination materials can be found at under “Events.”

Legends induction ceremony will take place next August at the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center.
