Arrest made in domestic violence incident

MABTON– Mabton police officers made an arrest in a domestic violence incident reported last Saturday in the 200 block of Main Street.

The dispute was reported as a woman having been assaulted by an ex-boyfriend in her home.

Arrested was Steven Vasquez, 36, of Mabton, who faces charges of assault, fourth degree.

Officers also investigated a report of a domestic violence incident in the 500 block of C. Street yesterday, Sunday. Upon arrival officers learned a couple was arguing over living arrangements. The man left voluntarily, according to the report. No arrests were made.

Also on Sunday, officers cited a driver for improper backing in an incident that resulted in a two-car non-injury accident in the 300 block of B Street. Officers reported there was minor damage done to both vehicles as a result of the collision.

In other activity on Sunday, Mabton officers cited a driver for driving while license suspended following a routine traffic stop in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue. The driver was also charged with failure to install a court-ordered ignition interlock devise.

Also since last Friday, officers have provided two agency assists.
