‘Anything Goes’ to be staged by YVCC

YAKIMA – Yakima Valley Community College Playmasters presents Anything Goes Thursday through Saturday, May 29-31, at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances will be staged Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1, at 2 p.m. in Kendall Hall Auditorium.

Admission to each performance will be $15 for students and $20 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the YVCC book store or at the box office the night of the performance.

The production is directed by YVCC Drama Instructor Alicia Bickley.

Anything Goes is set aboard the ocean liner S.S. American, where night club singer/evangelist Reno Sweeney is en route from New York to England.

Her pal Billy Crocker has stowed away to be near his love, Hope Harcourt, but the problem is Hope is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.

Joining this love triangle on board the luxury liner are Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin and his sidekick-in-crime, Erma.

With the help of some elaborate disguises, tap-dancing sailors and good old-fashioned blackmail, Reno and Martin join forces to help Billy in his quest to win Hope’s heart.

Anything Goes features songs by Cole Porter.

The production is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. The play contains adult language and situations.
