Local ministerial association hosting two days of prayer

In a time when there are so many bruised hearts, uncertain national and state politics and safety issues about which to agonize, the Sunnyside Ministerial Association is offering time when the community can come together in prayer.

Thursday, May 2, community members are invited to celebrate the National Day of Prayer, at Sunnyside's Centennial Square, South Sixth Street and East Edison Avenue, beginning at 12:15 p.m.

Ministerial association spokesperson Rev. Pat Beeman said prayers may be offered for national, state and local issues, the military, family, schools, churches and any other areas of concern.

The program will begin with music by Bob North of the Neighborhood Church of the Assemblies of God.

Rev. Beeman said a separate event, the Global Day of Prayer, during which global issues will be addressed, will be held Sunday, May 19, at 4 p.m. in the park area adjacent to Yakima Federal Savings and Loan Bank on East Edison Avenue.
