Isidro Armijo Salazar, 73, of Granger passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

Isidro was born on May 22, 1938, the son of Enrique and Sotera (Armijo) Salazar. On Jan. 9, 1966 he married Bealbina Eguia in Edinburg, Texas. Isidro worked for Carpenter Farms and later was employed by the Granger School District for 27 years. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren, family and best friend, Juan Guerrero. Isidro loved watching novelas and walking to the mail daily. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger.

Isidro is survived by his wife, Bealbina Salazar of Granger; children Ruben (Alisa) Salazar of Omak; Ernestina (Eduardo) Acevedo of Dundee, Ore., M. Estela (Mary) Salazar of Caldwell, Idaho, Esperanza Salazar of Pasco, and Nora (Joey) Cardenas of Granger; 17 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings, Estorijo Salazar, Paula DeLeon, Antonia Garza all of Edinburg and Enrique Salazar of Colorado Springs, Colo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Luis Salazar and one sister, Sotera Bazan.

Viewing and visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 from 2 to 8 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
