Wanett Burns, 70, of Benton City and a former Sunnyside resident and beautician, died on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.

She was born June 5, 1942 in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Elmer and Zelma Hayes Johnson.

On June 6, 1960 she married Denny Morrow in Sunnyside.

On June 7, 1974 she married Bob Burns.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Burns of Benton City; one daughter, Cindy Knowles of Sunnyside; one son, Jeff Morrow of Yakima; four grandchildren; six sisters, Shirley Denison of Hanford, Calif., Shelia Sanford, Carolyn Schelert and Linda Webb, all of Yakima, Lorene Colton of Naches and Deborah Danielson of Kettle Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William "Sonny" Johnson.

Viewing and visitation will be held today, Aug. 20, 2012, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with graveside funeral services to be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.

Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematory in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
