Grandview approved for $1.9 million USDA loan

GRANDVIEW - At Tuesday's Grandview City Council meeting City Administrator and Public Works Director Cus Arteaga announced a U.S. Department of Agriculture loan request for more than $1.9 million was recently approved.

The city applied for the loan to make improvements to its Euclid lift station and its primary clarifier pump station, which are part of the city's wastewater treatment system.

"Last year about this time the council toured the wastewater treatment center and we showed the council improvements that were necessary," said Arteaga.

He said the funding has been secured, making necessary improvements possible.

"If we don't start making repairs, we're going to start experiencing disasters," said Arteaga.

He asked the Grandview City Council to approve a task order with Huibregtse, Louman Associates, the city's engineers, to begin planning, design and construction engineering for the necessary improvements.

The council approved the task order unanimously.
