Jacinta G. Ramirez, 86, of Grandview passed away on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at her home in Grandview.

She was born June 7, 1924 in Goliad, Texas, to Santos and San Juana R. Gonzalez.

She received her education in Edinburg, Texas.

She, her husband and two daughters travelled around the country, settling in Grandview on March 13, 1948.

On Jan. 21, 1945 she married Juvencio H. Ramirez in Edinburg, Texas.

She worked in the Lower Valley for various farmers and warehouses.

Jacinta enjoyed crocheting, gardening and going fishing. She loved cooking for her family especially her grandchildren whom she enjoyed dancing for, playing tricks and pranks on her husband and family.

She is survived by her husband, Juvencio H. Ramirez, of Grandview; her children, Maria Guadalupe (Rudy) Acosta, of Spokane, Concepcion (Blas) Cantu, Estanislada (Lolo) Gonzalez, both of Grandview, Marcelina (Claudio) Ortega, of Sunnyside, Alejandro (Sandy) Ramirez, of Vancouver, and Andres (Rachel) Ramirez, of Pasco; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Santos Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez; one sister, Eloy Vela; one son, Jesus G. Ramirez; and a grandson, Fernando Ramirez Sanchez.

Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Grandview Church of the Nazarene.
