This past weekend the Sunnyside High School class of 1990 converged back to Sunnyside for its 20th high school reunion. We had an amazing turnout, meeting with old friends and catching up on each other's lives.
We would like to thank Carmen and the staff at RC's Restaurant and Casino for their kind service Friday night; as well as Gabriel, Juan, Tina and the staff at El Valle's Mexican Restaurant for putting together such a wonderful meal for us and the great service. Thanks, too, to Eddie Fernandez, Fred Loera and Rod Lobos for providing such great music; and to William E. Gaethle for donating wine for our class prizes; as well as thanks to all the many local businesses throughout our area. We would also like to thank the Daily Sun News for its kind write-up to help us reach out to more of our former classmates.
During the reunion we found that Sunnyside High School has churned out some pretty incredible people: health professionals, law enforcement, emergency services, military servicemen/women, entrepreneurs, education professionals, you name it.
We are pleased and excited to donate the remaining funds from our reunion to Sunnyside's Promise with the hope and expectation that Sunnyside will continue to be a community that supports its youth and their individual promise to society.
