Offerings expand with sale of JRJ

Central Machinery Parts Manager Mike Heitstuman provides service with a smile. He and other longtime employees at the former JRJ Services store have a combined experience of about 110 years in dealing with Case equipment.

The purchase of JRJ Services back in March has seen the Scoon Road business grow in terms of merchandise to serve the farming community.

With the purchase of JRJ, Central Machinery Sales, Inc. now owns stores in Pasco (2), Moses Lake, Hermiston, Ore. and Sunnyside.

Steve Stredwick is a manager for Moses Lake-based Central Machinery and he said the Sunnyside market is attractive because of its central location and agriculture-based economy.

"It fits into what we're selling," he said. "There's a stable customer base."

Stredwick emphasized that Central Machinery is here to stay and will maintain a commitment to being a Case dealer.

He also said the company plans to provide continued upgrades at the Sunnyside store.

Accordingly, Central Machinery has already spruced up the old JRJ building, as well as the parking lot.

Other notable changes include bringing on more equipment into its inventory. Equipment on display now includes a MacDon swather that can cut a wider path through crops like hay and mint.

Stredwick said Central Machinery is also upping the commitment to customer service, providing services and parts 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"It's critical for farmers," he said. "They can't afford to be down during harvesting."

Central Machinery's commitment to Sunnyside farmers is also evident in that the firm is hiring one new salesperson and two new service technicians.

While bringing a new and improved effort, Central Machinery is also retaining all the familiar faces at the Sunnyside store.

Stredwick figures Sunnyside's long-time employees have about 110 years of combined experience in working with Case equipment.

Stredwick wouldn't have it any other way.

"We're not just here for the moment," he said. "We're going to be here for a long while."
