Use recycling bins correctly

I have found a problem in this town and would like to solve it.

I am currently a freshman at Sunnyside High School. Driving around Sunnyside with my mom, I glanced to my left and saw the recycle bins that are provided here in town are filled with non-recyclable items. These bins are marked that they are only to be used to recycle items. This is awful.

Although I am very grateful for these bins, the use of them is not intended right. I recycle paper, plastic and cans. And I am sure many others in this great town of ours do too.

But we need a solution to the problem...that not many people recycle and those who throw their garbage in the bins are not using it correctly.

I asked my mom for help and she said, "Why don't we have people volunteer to guard the bins and see what goes in them.'' I thought this was a good idea. I am sure that many people just like me care about the environment too, at least I hope so.

I am sure though that there are many others that have extremely great ideas too. So if those who read this and understand the dilemma, please respond in a way to solve this and make this town better than it already is.
