M. Guadalupe Calderon Cuevas, 78, of Sunnyside, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009, at 5 a.m. at Yakima Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 27, 1931.

Guadalupe was a faithful wife, wonderful mother and grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Cuevas of Sunnyside; three daughters, Margarita Cuevas Gonzalez (Isidro) of Mexico, Lucinda Cuevas Gonzalez (Alfonso) of Sunnyside, Guillermina Cuevas Gutierrez (Rafael) of California; and three sons, Florencio Cuevas (Amanda) of Mexico, Jose Cuevas Jr. (Carolina) and Rojelio Cuevas (Armida), all of Sunnyside; 34 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Estella Cuevas Rodriguez; an infant son, Rigoberto Cuevas; two brothers; and two sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial was held today, Aug. 3, 2009, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
