Relay for Life team readies to sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts

GRANDVIEW - The Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic's Relay for Life team from the Grandview site is gearing up to sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts this coming Friday to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

According to Liz Verduzco, Yakima Valley Farm Worker Clinic employees at the Grandview site form a team for the Relay for Life event every year. Last year, there were 96 team members, ranging from physicians to nurses to all support staff.

Throughout the year, employees host special fundraising events, like bake sales and taco feeds.

Team members will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts this Friday at the Wal-Mart Store in Sunnyside from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Cost is $8 per dozen for glazed doughnuts and $9 per dozen for chocolate glazed doughnuts.
