Bickleton girls victorious

KLICKITAT - Excellent defensive play garnered the Bickleton Lady Pirates a 47-26 Sub-district win over Yakama Tribal last night and earned them a shot at District play.

Coach Tom Whitmore said of his team, "They played excellent defense. It was really frustrating for Yakama Tribal, it was definitely an overwhelming thing for them."

Whitmore switched defensive tactics in this game to full court press, something the Lady Pirates hadn't tried earlier in the season when they played against Yakama Tribal and lost by one point.

The Lady Pirates also presented a balanced scoring attack, with seven of Bickleton's players racking up points.

Katelyn Clinton was Bickleton's top scorer with 20 points.

The Lady Pirates (6-11) will travel to Goldendale today (Friday) to play against Trout Lake.

Bickleton 12 13 10 12 47
