Parade a success

What a way to kick off the Christmas spirit in the valley. For those who were in Sunnyside last Friday and Saturday nights, I hope you had a great time.

I would like to say thanks to all the people who were involved in bringing you the 19th annual Lighted Farm Implement Parade. A few of them are the parade committee; Pam Turner, Tim Graff, Sandra Linde, Jay Hester, Karen Friend, Greg Visser, Tim Bardell, Richard Warren, Jeff Norem, Ryan McKenize, Charlotte Hinderlider, the Sunnyside Police Department, Irv and Sharon Kilian; the grand marshal - Harry Visser; our corporate sponsors - Banner Bank, Sunnyside Community Hospital, the Port of Sunnyside and the city of Sunnyside; our media sponsors - the Daily Sun News, KXDD Radio, KAPP-TV and The Source Radio.

Also, thanks to the Port of Sunnyside, the Sunnyside Police Department and Cream Winery for help with the lighting at Centennial Square.

Thanks to all of the parade entries. I thought this year we had the best quality of entries.

Thanks as well to all of the people who stood on the sidewalks and braved the cold nights.

If I have missed anyone, I apologize.

Being involved in the parade the past few years, I know the community support that the parade has. That is what makes it a success.

Next year will be our 20th year. We want to make it the biggest ever, so anyone who has been thinking about being in the parade or wanting to help out with it can contact the Sunnyside Chamber. We are starting to work on it now.

Thank you again for all of the support and participation this year.

/s/ Jim S. Warren, 2007 Sunnyside Lighted Farm Implement Parade chairman
