Miguel A. Rivera, 34, of Sunnyside passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, in Sunnyside.

He was born Sept. 28, 1971 in Mexico to Antonio and Amelia (Gonzalez) Rivera. At an early age Miguel with his family moved to Sunnyside, where Miguel received his education. Miguel was a self employed carpenter and also an apprentice electrician.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Miguel was a loving father, son, brother and uncle with a very humble and humorous personality.

He enjoyed music, dancing, baking, and reciting poems to his children and at family gatherings. He was a loving father who built his families' home with his own loving hands.

He is survived by his children, Lionel A. Rivera, Miguel A. Rivera, Eric Rivera and Mercedes Rivera, all of Sunnyside; the love of his life, Norma Verduzco of Sunnyside; his mother, Amelia Rivera of Sunnyside; six sisters, Maria Guadalupe Rivera-Muñoz of Sunnyside, Manuela Rivera-Guzman of Sunnyside, Alicia Rivera and Tomasa Rivera, both of Beaverton, Ore., Elena Rivera of Othello and Petra Rivera-Morales of Grandview; and five brothers, Carlos A. Rivera and Eliberto Rivera, both of Mexico, Antonio Rivera Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., Jose Agustin Rivera and Marin Rivera, both of Sunnyside.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Antonio Rivera; one sister, Sylvia Rivera; and one brother, Jose Ascencion Rivera.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, 2006, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 24, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
