Grizzlies defeat Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG - Juan Pineda, the coach of the Sunnyside soccer team, started many substitutes for the game with Ellensburg this past Saturday. The result, a 4-0 victory.

Luis Perez scored the first goal. Perez collected a rebound off a shot by Emmaunuel Aceved and put a soft shot in the goal for a 1-0 Grizzly lead.

Silvano Ramos received a pass from Alex Aguilar and blasted the ball into the net for Sunnyside's second goal of the game.

"I was trying out players in different positions," Pineda said.

Ramos scored his second goal of the day when he took a pass by Brian Galvan in front of the goal and put it by the Ellensburg keeper.

"We had many good shots blocked by the Ellensburg keeper," Pineda said. "I thought he did an outstanding job."

The final goal of the game was scored by Jose Ramos. He used his height to head a ball in from a cross served by Daniel Ramos.

"We looked good and this allowed me to think of additional options for the future," Pineda said.

The Grizzlies (4-3, 7-3) travel to play West Valley this Friday, April 21, at 4 p.m.
