Christian Booster raffle a big success

Susan and I would like to take a minute to thank all the folks who helped make our Sunnyside Christian School Booster team so successful! There are many hands involved in getting the auction planned, advertised, donated, set up, decorated, arranged, fed & entertained! Not to mention those folks who stayed up late to clean and put it all away. Thank you everyone!

We were very fortunate to have over 41 tables sold by Close Up for the dinner, as well as many folks who just came to get a good deal. Thanks for buying & bidding folks!

Herman TeVelde brought our school some neat African artwork from Chipata, Zambia through his contacts with Partners Worldwide, which brought in almost $3,000. Herman and John did a fabulous job and we are so thankful for their help!

A unique item at our auction this year was the authentic, collectible carousel brought in for display by Ken TerMaaten. The vintage pipe organ with moving parts was lovely to listen to and gave our event a nice touch!

Winning this year's raffle was Don Irby of Prosser. Thanks to Harold's Repair and Rental, Sunnyside Sears, Columbia Trust Bank, Bio Gro, Inc., S.S. Steiners, Teddy Bear Corner, Pet Health Clinic, Dairy Vet Management and Puterbaugh Const. for their sponsorship of the raffle.

Lastly, at the close of the event Friday night we showed a gross earning of $47,000 and feel simply blessed! Not only did we have a superb meal and a good turnout, but our team was well organized. The auction went smoothly both behind the scenes and during the event. Congratulations to all for their efforts and the rewards we can now give back to our school.

/s/ in His spirit, Susan Scheenstra and Diana Puterbaugh, Sunnyside Christian School Booster co-Presidents
