14-year-old Grandview teen cited in locker room theft

GRANDVIEW - A 14-year-old boy was cited this past Friday in connection with a theft at Grandview High School.

Grandview Police Detective Mark Ware said the 14-year-old admitted to taking $100 out of a wallet in the Grandview High School locker room during a high basketball game.

Ware said the theft reportedly occurred Jan. 11, but police were not notified until Jan. 14.

According to Ware, charges against the 14-year-old are being forwarded to the Yakima County Juvenile Justice System.

Ford Tempo stolen from Grandview driveway

GRANDVIEW - a 1989 Ford Tempo was reported stolen from the 500 block of Crescent Street in Grandview this past Saturday morning.

Grandview Police Detective Mark Ware said the owner of the vehicle had walked outside, started the car and then went back inside to let it warm up. When the owner came back to get in the vehicle it was gone.

Ware said the car has yet to be recovered. Police currently have no suspects, but the case is under investigation.
