Neighbors foil burglary

A citizen noticing a strange car at their neighbor's house foiled an Arrowsmith Road burglary, according to Yakima County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Brian Winter.

A neighbor called the sheriff's office at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning to report two strange men in a vehicle he didn't recognize leaving his neighbor's house, said Winter. The neighbor then followed the car through the back roads north of Sunnyside toward the Granger area.

As the vehicle entered Granger, Granger police officers stopped the vehicle and detained the suspects.

Sheriff's deputies went back to the home and found that the shop had been burglarized.

Both suspects were arrested in connection with the burglary, according to Winter, and one of them had a warrant issued for their arrest.

The suspect vehicle was impounded. Winter said there are items they suspect are stolen visible from the outside of the car.
