Vernon and Lucille (Thouvenel) Kelly celebrated 70 years of marriage March 25, 2013. The couple were married March 25, 1943 in The Dalles, Ore. That night, they left on the train for his service in the Air Corps, where he was a pilot instructor during World War II. After returning home, he was a wheat rancher in The Dalles and she was a homemaker. They raised three sons in The Dalles. They loved world travel and divided their time between homes in The Dalles, Sun Valley, Idaho, and the north/ central coast, where they made many happy memories with family and friends. Their sons and their families include: Paul (Lynda) Kelly, grandchildren Tera (Dale) Boring, and Geoff (Merissa) Kelly, great grandchildren Katelyn, Emily, and Andrew Boring, Mara and Grant Kelly; Tom Kelly, grandchildren Michelle (Charles) Wise, Meghan Kelly, Patrick (Juliana) Kelly, great grandchildren Shelby Horton, Conor and Parker Kelly; Doug (Diane) Kelly, granddaughters Sara (Tim) Gott and April (Hans) Huggler.
